Directors
Gordon Macpherson
Gordon is a Director of Shawmac with over 30 years experience in working in private practice, and Local and State Government. Prior to establishing Shawmac with Tony Shaw in 1996, Gordon was the Executive Manager of the Works Division at the City of South Perth.
Key areas of expertise include Strategic Planning and Organizational Management, Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning, Road Safety and Risk Management.
Gordon has operated at the most senior level of management and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program from the Graduate School of Management at UWA. Gordon is a Chartered Professional Engineer and Member of the Institute of Engineers Australia. Gordon is also an Accredited Senior Road Safety Auditor, Accredited Roadwork Traffic Manager and Accredited Principal OSH Auditor and member of RABQSA.
Tony Shaw
Tony commenced his career with Main Roads WA in 1970 and subsequently filled a number of senior engineering positions in Local Government prior to commencing practice 14 years ago. With over 30 years experience, Tony has developed expertise in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning, Road Safety and Crash Analysis, Environmental Auditing and Risk Management.
Tony’s experience includes planning, design and coordination of civil infrastructure for large and small-scale projects; integrating stormwater drainage, roadworks and site grading project management; and liaison and coordination with multi-disciplinary projects teams and regulatory and approval authorities. He also has extensive experience in transport planning and traffic engineering, crash analysis and road safety auditing.
Tony holds a Bachelor of Science, Graduate Diploma of Business and a Diploma in Engineering Surveying. He is an Accredited Lead Environmental Auditor, Accredited Senior Road Safety Auditor and an Accredited Roadworks Traffic Manager. He is a member of the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia and RBAQSA.
